What is the real growth in the divine life?

The increase of the element of God means that more of God Himself has been mingled with us and received by us to become our element. Therefore, the real growth of life is the increase of God’s life within us.

The increase of the element of God means that more of God Himself has been mingled with us and received by us to become our element. Therefore, the real growth of life is the increase of God’s life within us. Life is God Himself. When life grows in us, God is increased in us. Life grows and increases to an extent that we may be filled unto all the fullness of God. This is the final word of Ephesians 3:19….

Colossians 3:4 says that Christ is our life. Thus, growth of life is the increase of Christ within us. The more we love Christ and pursue Christ, the more the measure of the stature of Christ will increase within us. This is the real growth of life. Seeing the Spiritual Warfare Going On Behind the Outward and Physical Scene

And he said to me, Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand this matter and to afflict yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me for twenty-one days; but now Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I remained there alone with the kings of Persia. (Dan. 10:12-13)If you read the book of Daniel you will be amazed to see time and time again that there’s a real spiritual struggle, a spiritual warfare, going on behind the scenes.

Especially in Daniel 10 we see that in order for God to deliver the message to Daniel as a response to his honest and persistent prayer, there was a spiritual battle going on. God’s created archangel, Lucifer, rebelled against God and took with him one third of the angels, who followed him in his rebellion.

Now, whenever God wants to do something, whenever man cooperates with God through prayer for God’s will to be released on earth, there is much spiritual warfare.

Behind the physical scene, behind the rise in power and demise of power of people and rulers, there’s a spiritual battle going on, something in the invisible realm. We need to see this. Read more on this topic via,

Behind the Physical Scene there is a Spiritual War, an Invisible Spiritual Struggle

The principle of God’s work is to wait for His people to move. Then He will move. (Watchman Nee, The Glorious Church)

In Revelation 12 we see a great vision regarding what is taking place right now in the entire universe. There is a woman who is about to give birth to a manchild, and the dragon persecutes the woman and wants to eat her man-child baby about to be born.

The church as God’s people today is “God’s woman”, His wife, representing Him on the earth. The woman is the totality of all of God’s people since the fall of man in Genesis 3.

The dragon is God’s enemy, Satan, who in the beginning of the Bible was a little serpent (see Gen. 3) but who throughout the ages has been feeding on man’s flesh (the dust of the ground, see Gen. 3:14-15) and has grown to be a great dragon.

Throughout the centuries there has been a war between the woman (God’s people) and the dragon (Satan, God’s enemy). Read more on this topic via,

Living According to the Principle of the Sabbath in the New Testament

Keeping the Principle of the Sabbath by Enjoying the Lord and Resting with Him

“There has been much debate among Christians about the Sabbath, especially whether the Sabbath should be observed on the seventh day or on the eighth day. The Seventh-day Adventists insist on keeping the Sabbath on the seventh day. Actually, the principle of the Sabbath is not a matter of the day on which it is observed. The principle of the Sabbath is that working with the Lord requires that we learn how to rest with Him.” (Witness Lee, Life-study of Exodus, pp. 1821-1822)

We as New Testament believers need to know what does the Bible say concerning our working with and for God. What is the principle of the Sabbath in our work for God and especially in God’s building? This article is a continuation of the previous sharing on,

Keeping the Principle of the Sabbath by Enjoying the Lord and Resting with Him.

Here are a few verses that really show us what it means to work together with the Lord for His Body, His building, the church.

  • Matt. 4:19And He said to them, Come after Me, and I will make you fishers of men. Without coming to Him and after Him, we cannot be fishers of men! We need to come to the Lord and be one with Him so that we may do what He does, that is, catch men alive for God’s kingdom!
  • 1 Tim 1:4 + 2:4 say, “Nor to give heed to myths and unending genealogies, which produce questionings rather than God’s economy, which is in faith.” (coming to the Lord in faith, joined to Him organically) + “Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the full knowledge of the truth.” (we work together with Him to save men). First we are joined to Him, and in this union we have the same desire as our Savior God, to save men!
  • John 6:57, As the living Father has sent Me and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also shall live because of Me. We first need to eat Christ as the living bread that He may become the supplying factor for our living, and then we can live because of Him. Our living is our working: we eat Christ, we live Christ, and we work one with Him.
  • John 7:37-38 – here we see that we need to come to the Lord and drink, and then from our innermost being there will be springs of living water flowing out! We first come to the Lord, drink of Him, enjoy Him, and then the work will come organically in His flowing from our innermost being!
  • John 15:4, Abide in Me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. Just abide in the Lord, remain in Him, enjoy Him, and be part of Him – this is the way to bear fruit, that is, to work for God. Apart from Him we can do nothing that builds up the church.
  • 1 Cor. 5:8, So then let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. Let us keep the feast by eating Christ, the all-inclusive One, as the solution to all our problems, for the building up of the church.
  • 1 Cor. 1:9, God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. God called us not to work for Him but to enjoy Christ, to feast on Christ, and partake of Him! When we enjoy Him, opinion will be gone, division is swallowed up, and we are attuned into the same mind and the same opinion to testify Jesus in one accord!
  • 1 Cor. 15:10, But by the grace of God I am what I am; and His grace unto me did not turn out to be in vain, but, on the contrary, I labored more abundantly than all of them, yet not I but the grace of God which is with me. God in Christ as the Spirit comes to us to be enjoyed by us and be everything for our enjoyment. The more we receive grace, the more we are supplied. We are what we are by the grace of God, and we labor for God – yet not us but the grace, God enjoyed by us!
  • Col. 2:19, And not holding the Head, out from whom all the Body, being richly supplied and knit together by means of the joints and sinews, grows with the growth of God. We need to hold the Head, love Christ, be one with Christ, enjoy Christ, and the building comes out from the Head. Just enjoy Christ and you will grow in life (growth comes from Him) and build up the church.
  • Rev. 2:4, But I have one thing against you, that you have left your first love. God hates it when we leave our first love. We need to love the Lord supremely, love Him with the first love and enjoy Him, and then we will spontaneously do the first works. We will work together with Christ and in Christ for His testimony.

This list contains only SOME of the many verses in the New Testament which clearly show us that we need to keep the principle of the Sabbath by enjoying Christ, loving Him, and being filled with Him, and then we can work together with Him by entering into what He is doing today – one with Him.

Lord, we want to keep the principle of the Sabbath by loving You, enjoying You, and being one with You. You called us into this enjoyment and joint participation in the riches of Christ. We just want to abide in You, remain here, enjoy all that You are, and then work together with You by being in You!

Being Faithful Members of the Body who Cooperate with the Spirit to Work for God

This article is a continuation of the sharing inspired from today’s morning revival via,

Four Simple Ways to be Inwardly Filled and Outwardly Clothed with the Spirit

(at www.agodman.com). This is an application of the principle of working for God by the Spirit, as seen in Acts 13.

Cooperating With the Spirit to Work for God

In Acts 13 there is an amazing account of the Lord having a great turn from the Jews to the Gentiles, from the work in Judea to the work among the Gentile nations.

There were five brothers there who gave themselves to fast and pray, ministering to the Lord. All they did was to afford the Lord the cooperation He needs for His work. They didn’t initiate anything, they just prayed.

Then the Spirit selected two of them for the work, and still, they didn’t just rejoiced and send them out, but they prayed more, laid their hands on them to identify themselves with the two, and sent them out. They were sent out by the Spirit and by the Body.

This was the beginning of the Lord’s move to the Gentiles which also spread to Europe.

Allowing the Spirit to Initiate: We Cooperate!

It was initiated by five faithful and seeking members of the Body who afforded the Lord an opportunity, through their ministering and fasting, that Christ as the Head of the Body would come in as the Spirit and set apart some of them for His great commission to spread His kingdom for the establishment of His church in the Gentile world through the preaching of the gospel.

It was not anything planned by man or something organized by the church – it was a move by the Spirit, in the Spirit, and with the Spirit through the coordination of the faithful and seeking members of the Body on earth with the Head in the heavens.

The Spirit initiated the move, and the members of the Body cooperated with the Spirit: no human schedule, no religious movement, no organizing of missions, no raising funds, no human ordination, no human plan or method.

May our work for the Lord be initiated by the Spirit and not by us, and may we be those faithful to Him to just cooperate with Him in the Body and be sent by Him with the blessing of the Body.

will you be willing to consider taking the way of the ministry of life?

will you be willing to consider taking the way of the ministry of life? This is a question a brother asked recently in a training, and it stuck with me. In the church life today there are so many needs and, you can say, there are many ways to take care of the needs and the problems. But are we willing to consider taking the way of the ministry of life in the church life?

will you be willing to consider?

Are you willing? Lord, am I willing? Or am I stuck in my own ways, in my own thoughts, in what I think I should do, and in what I think the church life is? Oh, Lord Jesus, how much I need to be saved from my unwillingness and just open to the Lord that He would make me willing! He operates in us both the willing and the working – according to His good pleasure.

take the way of the ministry of life

In 1 Corinthians Paul expounded on the fact that the gifts in the church life are for the building up of the Body, and we should rather focus on enjoying Christ, eating Christ, and experiencing Christ – and not on exalting certain gifts. In 2 Corinthians he promoted and exalted the ministry of the new covenant, the ministry of life, which is produced by revelation plus suffering.

It is easy to be drawn to and follow a gift in the Body of Christ, but are we willing to take the way of the ministry of life? Are we willing not only to see high revelations of God’s economy, but also to pay the price to suffer for these revelations, so that the ministry would be produced in us? In the church meetings and in our Christina life, do we take the way of the ministry of life?

Lord, make me willing!

This is my prayer, and this is my honest response to the Lord, Lord, make me willing to consider this. I want to consider taking this way, the way of the ministry of life! Give me the experiences that I need that will produce this ministry, the ministry which imparts, dispenses, and flows out life for the building up of the Body of Christ!
