Being Faithful Members of the Body who Cooperate with the Spirit to Work for God

(at www.agodman.com). This is an application of the principle of working for God by the Spirit, as seen in Acts 13.

Cooperating With the Spirit to Work for God

In Acts 13 there is an amazing account of the Lord having a great turn from the Jews to the Gentiles, from the work in Judea to the work among the Gentile nations.

There were five brothers there who gave themselves to fast and pray, ministering to the Lord. All they did was to afford the Lord the cooperation He needs for His work. They didn’t initiate anything, they just prayed.

Then the Spirit selected two of them for the work, and still, they didn’t just rejoiced and send them out, but they prayed more, laid their hands on them to identify themselves with the two, and sent them out. They were sent out by the Spirit and by the Body.

This was the beginning of the Lord’s move to the Gentiles which also spread to Europe.

Allowing the Spirit to Initiate: We Cooperate!

It was initiated by five faithful and seeking members of the Body who afforded the Lord an opportunity, through their ministering and fasting, that Christ as the Head of the Body would come in as the Spirit and set apart some of them for His great commission to spread His kingdom for the establishment of His church in the Gentile world through the preaching of the gospel.

It was not anything planned by man or something organized by the church – it was a move by the Spirit, in the Spirit, and with the Spirit through the coordination of the faithful and seeking members of the Body on earth with the Head in the heavens.

The Spirit initiated the move, and the members of the Body cooperated with the Spirit: no human schedule, no religious movement, no organizing of missions, no raising funds, no human ordination, no human plan or method.

May our work for the Lord be initiated by the Spirit and not by us, and may we be those faithful to Him to just cooperate with Him in the Body and be sent by Him with the blessing of the Body.
