the compound Spirit – enjoying the preciousness, sweetness, and effectivenes of Christ’s death!

the precious death of Christ and the sweetness & effectiveness of His death are in the Compound Spirit!Christ as the all-inclusive life-giving Spirit today is the compound Spirit – He has been “compounded” with all the elements He picked up in the process He went through. In Exodus 30:23-25 we see that there was an anointing oil being compounded according to the work of a compounder – a holy anointing oil which will anoint everything in God’s house. This ointment typifies the compound Spirit – and all the elements in the compound ointment typify one aspect of Christ’s process, especially His death and resurrection. Here’s what we see in Exodus 30:23-25 regarding the elements in this compounded ointment… continue reading this portion regarding the myrrh and cinnamon in the compound ointment as unveiled in Exodus 30 via,

the precious death of Christ and the sweetness & effectiveness of His death are in the Compound Spirit!

Christ died a vicarious death on the cross, He died on our behalf; He is our Redeemer!

Praise the Lord for Christ’s all-inclusive death on the cross! Usually when someone dies, nobody talks about it and no one wants to remember it, since death is such a terrible thing… But with the Lord Jesus, His death was an all-inclusive accomplishment, and we believers treasure it and love it! To us His death on the cross, though humanly a terrible and not pleasant, is even sweet! We treasure His death! One particular aspect of Christ’s death on the cross that I enjoyed today is that His death is vicarious! Christ died a vicarious death, a death that was recognized and approved by God.

On the one hand, Christ died on our behalf – He died as a Substitute for us, the sinners. The first three hours He was on the cross, Christ was persecuted by man – man did everything he could to persecute Him, mock Him, torture Him, etc. After the three hours, God came in to judge Christ – He put all our iniquities on Him(Isa. 53:6), making Him the Unique Sinner in His eyes. Because Christ became the Unique Sinner in God’s eyes, God left Him(economically – He took His Spirit of power from upon this “sinner”; but essentially, God was still with Him, since He was the essence of His being – Christ was conceived with the divine essence).

On the other hand, Christ died a vicarious death – His death was legal according to God’s law and was recognized by God. If someone should risk his life or even give his life to rescue or save someone else – this is not “vicarious”; it is merely an act of sacrifice. But Christ’s death was approved by God and He was our legal substitute in the eyes of God – God judged Christ on our behalf, putting all our sins, tresspasses, iniquities, diseases, sorrows – on Him!

Christ’s death was more than a murder and more than a martyrdomHis death was a vicarious death in which God judged Christ on our behalf and approved His death according to His law! Some people “follow Christ’s pattern” outwardly, considering Him a great philosopher, very moral and ethical – yet they don’t believe in Christ’s redeeming death on the cross! This is just as if the people of Israel would have “eaten the Passover lamb raw” – see Exo. 12:9, God wanted His people to eat the lamb roasted with fire! Christ was roasted with fire on the cross – He was judged by God, and now we eat Him as such a One! Other people regard Christ’s death as a martyrdom, He died as martyr, having sacrificed Himself for His good teachings and His philosophy… This is wrong! This is as if you would eat the lamb “boiled” – yes, suffering was there, but there was no judgement from the holy fire! We need to come to the Word of God and believe that Christ died a vicarious death on the cross – He was judged by God according to His righteous law, and He suffered under God’s wrath as the Substitute for us the sinners! Christ was “roasted” on the cross under God’s judgement – He is now qualified to be our Redeemer, having paid the highest price and having fulfilled all the requirements of God’s righteousness, holiness, and glory! When we now believe in Him, the redemption He accomplished on the cross is being applied to us! [sharing inspired from the life-study of Exodus msg. 23 and the Holy Word for Morning Revival on the Crystallization-Study of Isaiah(2)] [Read this portion also in Spanish / Puede leer esta porción también en español, La muerte de Cristo en la cruz fue vicaria, Él murió en nuestro lugar; ¡Él es nuestro redentor!]

Thank You Lord Jesus for Your all-inclusive death on the cross! Thank You for dying on our behalf! You didn’t die just as a martyr, nor were You merely murdered by men! You became our Substitute on the cross – taking all our sins upon You! How we love You, Lord! Thank You so much for Your sacrifice on the cross! Thank You for being judged on our behalf – You who had no sin, You were made sin for us! Lord, we really love You! Thank You for Your vicarious death on the cross!

by His bruise we were healed – we can apply the death of Christ to our being and be healed!

One particular aspect of Christ’s all-inclusive death is that Christ died for us to be healed! “By whose bruise you were healed” (1 Pet. 2:24-25) – we have been healed by Christ’s bruise! We were dead(Eph. 2:1) but Christ’s suffering of death healed our death so that we may live in His resurrection. He healed us of our death and His death is available to us daily for our healing! The healing power is in the death and resurrection of Christ! In the Old Testament there is the story of the people of Israel travelling in the wilderness and becoming very thirsty(Exo. 15:22-27). They eventually reached a place called Marah where there was water – but the water was bitter! They complained to Moses and they murmured against Jehovah; Moses, in his turn, instead of striving with this murmuring and complaining people, cried out to the Lord! In response, God showed him a tree – when Moses cast that tree in the waters, they were made sweet! According to 1 Pet. 2:24 the tree signifies the cross of Christthe unique cross of Christ as the tree is the only healing thing in this universe! Today in our situations also we need to apply the cross of Christ, the death of Christ, so that any bitter situation or bitter part of our being would become sweet! Many things in our environment and many situations, as sweet as they are in the beginning, become bitter eventually. People, situations, things, environments – they are many times bitter to us. Even more: we ourselves in our being are bitter! This is why we need to come to the Lord daily and apply the cross of Christ to our being, so that any bitterness would be turned into sweet drinkable water!

The Lord uses our experience of His cross in bitter circumstances so that He may test us and expose us – He wants to show us what we really are. The experience of the cross exposes our motives, our intentions, and our desires! Everything in us is bitter – unless we apply the cross of Christ to our being and to our situation! Through the application of the cross of Christ, the Lord heals us! He may not change our environment or the situation we are in – but through the application of His cross to our being, He heals us! We need healing in the mind – our crooked mind, so bitter, thinking so many other things besides the Lord…. we definitely need to be adjusted in our mind! We need healing in our emotion – so “sticky” to many other things or persons besides the Lord, loving things that the Lord hates and hating things that the Lord loves, so cold towards the Lord many times, not loving the saints…. our emotion needs adjusting and healing! We need healing in our will – so strong and stubborn before the Lord and yet so weak and pliant towards the enemy, choosing things or people that the Lord may not approve, hindering the Lord and not being in accordance to the Lord’s will, or simply not choosing the Lord all the time, not choosing the things of the Lord or the church life… our will needs healing!

The Lord brings us to “the experience of Marah” times and times again – so that we may experience Him in His crucifixion and be healed! May He show us “a tree”, may He show us the cross of Christ, by Whose bruise we were healed! By the inward application of the cross of Christ we are healed from any bitterness! We need to turn to Him and be identified with Him in His crucifixion again and again so that our whole being would be healed! Healing in our physical body is good – but every human being needs healing in their soul! Only Christ is the One who can heal us! Through His death on the Cross we have been healed! All we need to do is to come to Him and apply the cross of Christ tou our situation and to our being! Just come to Him and touch Him – His cross will be applied to you! [sharing inspired by the Life-Study of Exodus msg 30 and the morning revival on the Crystallization-Study of Isaiah(2)] [Read this portion also in Spanish / Puede leer esta porción también en español, Por Su herida fuimos sanados – ¡podemos aplicar la muerte de Cristo a nuestro ser y ser sanados!]

Lord, we come to You again and again! How much we need Your healing! Thank You, Lord, for exposing us times and times again! Save us from running away from You or trying to escape the situations! We want our whole being to be healed! Thank You for Your all-inclusive death! By Your death we have been healed! Lord, keep us applying the death of Christ to our being and to our situation! Be so real to us, Lord… make our being and our demeanor so sweet! Only You are the sweet One – and only You can heal us and make us the same as You are! Keep us coming to You, dear Lord!

The self opposes the Body – we need to deny the self and apply the death of Christ by the Spirit to our self!

We have previously seen that the oneness of the Body of Christ is Christ Himself as the Spirit. We need to allow the Lord Jesus to mingle Himself with us – in order that we may be lowly and meek… only the lowly and meek can keep the oneness. Actually, only “the failures” among us are humble enough to keep the oneness. It is not “the strong ones”, but by many of us having a failure after another that we are reduced and terminated to be a “zero” and not a “hero”. It is then that we bear one another in love(the inner substance of God). It is not the “crowd persons” – the ones who push and press against the Lord but with no definite desire to touch Him – that live the Body life, but rather the desperate ones that need to touch the Lord or else there’s no other solution for them. Actually, the arrogant, the proud, the self-confident ones – they break the oneness right and left by their own being – the Lord will eventually bring someone in their life that will expose them of their self, to show them that we all are just failures, needing the Lord to come and replace us every moment

Any act apart from the Spirit is divisive – since the Spirit is the oneness itself. It is all in our mingled spirit. One of the enemy’s strategies is to draw us out of our spirit! We need to stay in the spirit, turn to the spirit, even be diligent to keep the oneness of the Spirit by turning to the spirit all the time! There is no excuse for us not being in the spirit. Rather, we need to walk in the spirit for the Body’s sake!

As we endeavor to exercise our spirit for the Body life, we will realize that there’s something in us that cannot and does not want to live the Body life – it is the self. The Body is versus the self; the enemy of the Body is the self(Col. 2:18-19; 3:15). There is a difference, though, between realizing this by ourselves in our mind(a mental comprehension of the concept) and being actually enlightened by the Spirit to see this. It is one thing to agree with the speaking that exposes the self, and it is another thing to see the vision of the self. Peter saw a vision of Christ as the Son of God, and right away the self in Peter was manifested(Matt. 16). When we have the vision of the self, when the Lord really exposes our self, we will realize how mortal the self is, and how much it opposes the building! The enemy hates this exposing, since this exposing of the self and seeing a vision of the self exposes him – as we are exposed, we agree with the light and the truth! If this disease, the self, has its course in us, it will kill us and dehumanize us…. Many times saints / believers have a powerful soul which is built up by necessity as they go through hard things and situations – this strong soul hinders the Body and blurrs our vision of the Body.

There is an absolute remedy for this situation – there is a remedy that is absolutely invincible in dealing with our self: it is the cross! As we grow in life and pursue the glorious objective of the Body, the Lord comes in to expose our self. Remember: the self is willing to suffer a lot, as long as it is not killed – even this suffering can make the self stronger. We need to see the fact that the cross in its primary meaning is not suffering but termination! Through the cross, the Lord Jesus died an all-incluse and all-terminating death. Our experience is based on the truth of the Lord’s all-inclusive death. In Rom. 6:6 we see that our old man has been crucified with Him – the totality of our fallen human being has been crucified with Christ! The old “I” died with the Lord Jesus! And He offered Himself to God on the cross through the eternal Spirit. Through His process of incarnation, human living, death, and resurrection, Christ became the life-giving Spirit, and this Spirit is a COMPOUND Spirit. Everything He passed through is compounded in this Spirit: His perfect humanity, His genuine human living, His divinity, His sweet death, the power of His resurrection – everything is in the Spirit! The Spirit that we received at our regeneration and which is daily transforming and saturating us is the compound ointment! We can enjoy and apply Him to our entire being today.

Experientially, as the Lord shines on us and we see our self, we deny the self and not stand with it! We say, No, I deny myself, I don’t stand with my self! And then, we take up the cross = we apply to this self the effectiveness of the crucifixion of Christ. The cross of Christ is in the Spirit – when we contact the Lord by exercising our spirit, the cross of Christ is applied to our self! This is the medicine – call on the name of the Lord, and He as the all-inclusive medicine knows what’s wrong in us – the Spirit flows and goes exactly to the place where the medicine is needed! “Lord, right now I apply the effectiveness of Your death to my self!” – and this is for terminating the self and not for suffering. In this way, the enemy of the Body – the self – is being killed and we are living in resurrection! Hallelujah for this practical way to deal with the self! Whenever we see this element in us – whenever we’re exposed by the Lord to see our self – we’re motivated to admit that we don’t want to be in our self – so we say NO! to our self and right away we apply the cross by contacting the Lord Spirit! We call on the Lord’s name, O Lord Jesus! – and the Spirit flows in us, reaching exactly where He needs to and applies the death of Christ to our self… [enjoyment from the sharing in the recent European conference on the message, Oneness and the Cross]

Lord, remind us that it is no longer us that lives but we live a life together with You! Even when You expose us, Lord, remind us to NOT stand with our self but rather deny it! O, Lord, keep us calling on You to have the Spirit apply the death of Christ to our self! Continue to expose us and show us our self, Lord…

take the rod(apply the death of Christ to your situation) and speak to the rock(speak to Christ in faith)!

This week we’re getting into the message entitled, Drawing Water with Rejoicing from the Springs of Salvation – in the Crystallization-study of Isaiah(1). Today I was reminded of the fact that most of the problems and murmurings in the church life are due to the shortage of the Spirit of life. The people of Israel were murmuring in the wilderness against God and against Moses because they were thirsty – and God did not “rebuke” them or tell them that this is wrong. God knows that we need the supply, we need to drink… We need Christ as the Spirit of life flowing into us and satisfying us all the time! Whenever we don’t drink of Him, whenever we are not supplied with life, we are not happy!

If we are short of the Spirit of life, which is typified here by the water, we either get in trouble or we cause trouble. We need to be continually drinking of the Lord within, and continually flowing Him out to the ones around us! Otherwise, we will either blame others or contend with God – simply because we’re deeply thirsty! Just like we see in the book of Numbers, Christ as the rock following us(to be available to us whenever we need Him) has already been smitten. The first time, God told Moses to “take the rod and strike the rock” – typifying the Lord Jesus was stricken on the cross by the rod of God’s law and His judgement, and out of His side flowed blood and water(John 19:34). When the Lord was pierced on the cross, out of Him flowed blood(for redemption and washing away of the sins) and water(for regeneration and continual drinking and supply) – see the note in the Recovery Version about Blood And Water.

Today we need to just take the rod(apply the death of Christ to our situation) and speak to the rock(speak to Christ by exercising our spirit)! We don’t need to “strike the rock” again – there is no effort on our side. All we have to do is apply the death of Christ to our situation – in this way we will experience the crucified Christ. Then, we just speak to Him with an open heartLord, thank You that the Spirit is flowing today! We speak and we believe – in this way, we just drink! Whenever you’re thirsty, just speak to the rock! Speak to Christ, who is not far away in the heavens or somewhere else – He’s in your heart and He’s in your mouth(Rom. 10:9). Now that the Spirit has been given, there is no need for Christ to be crucified again so that the living water may flow forth! Just take the rod(the death of Christ applied to our particular situation) and speak to the rock(not in a begging way but in a believing way, full of faith)!

When we are satisfied, when our thirst is quenched, we are happy and there are no problems. But when we are thirsty and short of the supply of life, there are a lot of troubles and issues. And the way to receive the life supply afresh is so simple – we just need to open our heart and open our mouth and speak to Christ by calling, fellowshipping with Him, praying in faith, and all kinds of speaking towards Him and with Him! The simple calling on the Lord’s name – O Lord Jesus! – will bring you to “take a drink” from the water of life. This water of life comes in and meets all our needs, refreshers us, envigorates us, enlivens us, and empowers us to live out Christ.

O, Lord, we want to keep out of trouble by drinking You! Thank You for reminding us that we just need to come to You and speak to You that we may drink! May there be no shortage of the Spirit in our being!
